Oracle continues his campaign to acquire other companies, which resulted in 30 acquisitions in the last three years. This time, BEA received an offer of $17 per share or a total of $6.7 billions.
This represents an increased value of 25% over the market value of BEA's stocks as per Thursday (10/11). Even so, BEA rejected the offer stating that the value offered is below the company market value.
But BEA is under great pressure to be sold by one of its most important investors, Carl Icahn, who says the company will not be able to keep up its market value on its own.
If Oracle is able to close this deal, it will be one more of it's recent billionaire acquisitions. Today, the company is in second place in the business applications market, right below SAP.
