VCM 7.4 supports the following Directory Servers:

• IBM Tivoli Directory Server 5.1.x, 5.2.x, 6.0.x


• Microsoft Active Directory for Windows 2000


• Microsoft Active Directory for Windows 2003


• Novell eDirectory 8.7.x and 8.8.x


• OpenLDAP 2.2.x and 2.3.x


• Sun Java System Directory Server 5.x


• Vignette Runtime Services Integrated LDAP Server

The VCM default installation uses Weblogic _embed_ded LDAP Server (Vignette Runtime Services Integrated LDAP Server), the _link_ as follow has more details: http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/secmanage/ldap.html

The Vignette Portal 7.3 supports the following LDAP Servers:

• IBM Tivoli Directory Server 5.2


• IBM Tivoli Directory Server 6.0


• Microsoft Windows 2003 Active Directory


• Novell® eDirectory™ 8.7.x and 8.8.x


• OpenLDAP 2.x


• Sun™ Java System Directory Server 5.x

But the Vignette Portal doesn’t have internal LDAP, the default realm is the SQL data_base_, that is the same Portal data_base_. The Vignette Portal Administrator’s Guide - "Chapter 9" contains more information: http://connect.vignette.com/vgm/Support/Technical+Library/Portal
